Punit Chiniwalla

Punit leads venture investments for Hewlett Packard Pathfinder where he focuses on enterprise application, infrastructure, and cloud services.

Prior to HPE, Punit was the Director of Corporate Development at Amazon where he led venture investments and drove M&A strategy for AWS. Prior to Amazon, Punit was the Managing Director of Singtel Innov8, leading the fund’s US and Israel efforts. He joined Innov8 shortly after the fund was formalized as an LP-GP structure and spent almost a decade helping the fund grow to more than 120 investments globally. Punit started his venture career at Panorama Capital during its spinout from JPMorgan Partners.

Punit is an approachable venture capitalist and corporate strategist who has driven more than 30 investments as an active board member across all stages of the startup lifecycle including Attivo (acq. Sentinel One), Shape Security (acq. F5), TubeMogul (IPO, acq. Adobe), Qubole (acq. Idera), Bitglass (acq. Forcepoint), Nexage (acq. MM, Yahoo), Edmodo (acq. Elernity), Neura (acq. Otonomo), and Tempo.ai (acq. Salesforce).

Punit crossed over to venture capital after many years developing frontier technologies at notable institutions including IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center in New York. He holds a B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University, a Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Michigan where he was a Frankel Fellow and Mondry Scholar. He is also a graduate of the hyper-connected Kauffman Fellows Program where he remains active as a society member, lecturer and mentor.
