Shannon Cross is the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for HPE. In this role she oversees Corporate Strategy, Market & Competitive Insights, Hewlett Packard Pathfinder, and Investor Relations.

Deeply respected by highly relevant external stakeholders, Shannon brings a unique perspective on HPE’s key markets and valuable insights into the industry, and her extensive knowledge of the business plays a crucial role in HPE’s Journey to Win. She has covered HPE as an equity analyst for more than two decades and has experience building a research firm rooted in industry and financial analysis.

Prior to joining HPE, Shannon served as Managing Director for Credit Suisse Securities Research covering the IT hardware sector, recently focusing on AI, hybrid cloud, and outsourced manufacturing. She also has a history of successful business management, having previously been Chief Executive Officer of Cross Research, which she co-founded as a boutique independent research firm focused on the IT hardware, software, and supply chain industries. Prior to that, she was an equity analyst at Merrill Lynch. Before her career as a Wall Street analyst, Shannon worked in corporate development for Teleport Communications Group, a telecom services company, where she led a strategy team resulting in a $1 billion acquisition.

Shannon grew up in Northern California and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California Berkeley. She also holds a master’s in political science from Columbia University. Shannon resides in Reno, NV with her husband.
