Ali Wasti

Ali leads venture investments for Hewlett Packard Pathfinder across the company portfolio. His areas of investment interests include data, Artificial Intelligence, next generation infrastructure and IoT.

Ali currently serves on the board of Alation, SingleStore, Cequence Security, TruEra, Arcion, Tamr and WekaIO.

Prior to joining Pathfinder, Ali was a partner at Atami Capital where he led the firm’s US investments. Before Atami, Ali led venture investments at Azure Capital Partners in enterprise B2B, cloud infrastructure, and AI. His notable exits include Sprinklr (IPO), Convercent (acq: OneTrust), PredictionIO (acq: Salesforce), Tutum (acq: Docker), Lyft(IPO), Native (acq: P&G) and VIDA (acq: Cimpress). Ali has served on several boards and led investments at Docker, LumaHealth, Unitas Global, and Eight among other companies.

Ali has spent more than 10 years in senior leadership positions within engineering, product and business development in data management and analytics. Prior to his investment career, he led global business development for IBM’s Information Management and Analytics software businesses. In addition, he led product and engineering teams building relational databases and enterprise search products.

Ali holds an MBA from Harvard Business School where he won the Venture Capital Investment Competition and was the CFO of the Venture Capital and Private Equity Club as well as the Assistant Producer of the HBS Show. He has also served as the global chair of the HBS Alumni Angels Conference, part of the largest university-affiliated angel group in the world. He received his BS in Computer Science from McMaster University.
