Welcome to the November edition of Pathfinder Insights!

Pathfinder experienced a very busy and exciting last couple of months culminating with its announcement to expand the program to further support and accelerate HPE’s edge-to-cloud strategy. We are very excited to have this opportunity to increase our impact internally with our valued business stakeholders and externally with our ecosystem of start-up and VC partners.

We welcomed three new companies (SingleStore, vFunction, and Cellwize) to our portfolio. We look forward to developing relationships with our newest partners as we drive solution engagement between our organizations. Finally, Pathfinder continues to support existing portfolio companies through fundraising and solution activities. Recent successes cultivated through portfolio relationships such as Dragos, Flywheel, and OpsRamp are featured below.

We are looking forward to what the future will bring for Pathfinder as we embark on our next chapter.

Portfolio Company Updates

New Investment: SingleStore

In September, Pathfinder participated in SingleStore's $80 Million Series F round of funding. SingleStore provides a single database for all data types (including structured and unstructured data) offering low-latency, in-memory storage for data-intensive workloads across hybrid, on-premises, and cloud environments.

As a major player in the database/data warehouse market, SingleStore offers better scalability, velocity, data structure versatility, and optionality in deployment than its competitors.

SingleStore is expected to be included in the HPE Ezmeral Marketplace. Read more

New Investment: vFunction

Pathfinder invested in vFunction's Series A round of funding. vFunction helps companies modernize their legacy applications to run in containerized environments using a lightweight microservices architecture.

vFunction is well aligned with HPE’s focus of helping its customers modernize their critical legacy applications, and will provide needed integration with customer CI/CD pipelines. We expect vFunction to be included in the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform ecosystem. Read more

New Investment: Cellwize

Pathfinder announced an investment in Cellwize. Cellwize is a Radio Access Network (RAN) automation platform that enables telecommunications companies to accelerate 5G network deployment and go-to-market, as well as improve the return on their network investments.

The Cellwize solution is well positioned to complement the HPE Communications Technology Group offerings.

Follow-On Investment: Flywheel

In September, Pathfinder participated in Flywheel's $22M Series C round of funding. This round of funding was done in support of Flywheel’s recent Radiologics acquistion. The acquisition accelerates Flywheel’s offerings in medical research, ramping up the speed of clinical trials and getting to the discovery phase more quickly.

Flywheel’s cloud-based research data platform has recently been validated on the HPE Ezmeral Container Platform. The Flywheel platform offers multi-modality data management, automation and scaling of computational workflows, as well as secure collaboration capabilities. Flywheel is working with GreenLake to identify joint opportunities in the healthcare vertical.

Follow-On Investment: Dragos

In October, Pathfinder participated in Dragos' $200M Series D funding — making Dragos the most valuable ICS OT cybersecurity company! Congratulations to Dragos for attaining unicorn status!

Dragos and HPE continue strengthening their partnership that will help HPE’s customers secure their industrial cybersecurity networks. Dragos technology and services are now available on HPE servers, read the blog post here.

Pathfinder continues to facilitate conversations with Aruba's ClearPass team to work towards a potential technical integration and joint go-to-market.

Follow-On Investment: PubNub

Congratulations to PubNub on its recent $65M Series E investment round.

Pathfinder was delighted to participate and be part of this milestone in the PubNub journey.

Exit: IonQ

This month, IonQ became the first quantum computing company to go public. Congratulations! Pathfinder is privileged to have been a part of this journey.
