Many enterprises see security as the biggest challenge holding back cloud adoption. Major IT trends today – including the use of services vs. software; the expectation for anytime, anywhere access even outside of corporate networks; and bring-your-own-device behavior – make protecting sensitive information a daunting task for enterprises. These trends require a new style of security that protects data no matter where it lives.

At Adallom, our mission is to make it simple to secure data in any cloud. We give enterprises peace of mind as they transition to SaaS applications by providing a purpose-built cloud application security platform. We help organizations protect users from threats, govern application usage, address compliance mandates and enable data protection for cloud applications – allowing them to realize the benefits of the cloud. Adallom delivers a seamless experience, integrating with cloud applications in minutes and requiring no endpoint agent configuration.

In just two years since we founded Adallom, we’ve already seen some serious momentum. Adallom has been deployed by key enterprises worldwide including HP, which uses Adallom to secure its deployment of cloud applications. We also recently delivered integration with security services like FireEye Threat Analytics Platform (TAP) and Check Point Capsule.

Last week, we announced that Adallom received $30 million in new funding, including a strategic investment by Hewlett Packard Ventures, new stakeholder Rembrandt Venture Partners and previous investors Sequoia Capital and Index Ventures. The funding will help grow our sales and marketing efforts, expand our global channel program and support Adallom Labs and ongoing product R&D.

Today we protect more than 1.5 million users – but there are so many more who could benefit from the Adallom platform. As a trusted security partner across many industries, HP can help Adallom build paths to market, credibility with customers and scale. For example, HP’s channel expertise and global network of 150,000 partners is incredibly valuable to us as we ramp up our own channel program, which we launched earlier this year. On the sales and marketing front, we look forward to gaining access to HP’s deep understanding of growth opportunities around the world.

Having worked with HP as one of our customers and now as an investor, I was thrilled by how quickly this giant tech company could move, and how efficient and transparent their investment process is. I recently had the chance to meet with Meg Whitman and some of the HP leadership team and could feel their excitement about Adallom and the Hewlett Packard Ventures program. Innovation is clearly a priority for HP and I look forward to our future with them.

We are proud to have built a strong relationship with HP, enhancing our partnership from an Adallom customer to a strategic investor. In Hewlett Packard Ventures, we have a partner who shares and supports our vision, and has the team, talent and resources to help us deliver on it. Together, we’ll work to provide a best-in-class cloud security platform, helping to accelerate enterprise cloud adoption.alt text
